If you’re a parent, you already know: laundry is its own personality in the house. Some weeks it behaves, some weeks it acts like a dramatic teenager who refuses to be tamed. With a baby, two busy boys, and two adults, our laundry piles multiply faster than snacks disappear in the car.

Over the years, I’ve learned one thing:Having the right laundry products is the difference between “toss it and pray” and “wow, that actually worked.”

And in our house, one product has become the MVP of stain removal, fresh smells, baby-friendliness, and overall sanity:

OxiClean. My holy-grail. My ride-or-die. My laundry lifeline.

I don’t gatekeep—so today I’m sharing exactly how I use OxiClean, plus my full baby laundry routine, the “big boy” laundry routine, and what I do for ours.

Let’s dive into the chaos.

🌸 Baby Laundry: Keeping Everything Soft, Safe, and Stain-Free

Babies are tiny… their messes are not.

Spit-up, blowouts, formula droplets, mystery stains (always mysterious)… I’ve seen it all. For baby laundry, I keep things gentle on skin but tough on stains.

My Baby Laundry Staples (shown in the photos you shared):

✔️ Purex Baby Soft Detergent

✔️ OxiClean Baby Stain Remover Spray

✔️ OxiClean Baby Stain Remover Powder

My Baby Laundry Routine

  1. Pre-Treat EverythingAny spit-up, diaper leak, or food stain gets sprayed immediately with OxiClean Baby Spray. It works even if it dries before you get to it — bless.

  2. Soak When NecessaryFor tougher stains, I fill a small tub with warm water + 1 scoop of OxiClean Baby powder, and soak for 1–6 hours depending on stain level.

  3. Wash on a Gentle CycleI use Purex Baby Soft, because it’s gentle, dermatologist-tested, and smells like fresh baby snuggles.

  4. Skip Fabric SoftenerIt decreases absorbency for towels and sleepers. I let the detergent + OxiClean do the work.

Baby clothes come out looking brand new — no fading, no residue, no leftover stains.

🧼 How to Use OxiClean (Properly!) to Remove

Baby Stains

OxiClean works like magic because it uses oxygen bubbles to lift stains out of the fibers — and it saves a lot of clothes that would otherwise go in the “play clothes only” bin.

Here are the simple methods:

1️⃣ For Regular Stains

  • Spray stain with OxiClean Baby Spray

  • Let sit 5–10 minutes

  • Wash as usual

2️⃣ For Tough, Set-In, or Dried Stains

  • Mix ½ scoop OxiClean Baby Powder in warm water

  • Soak garment 1–6 hours

  • Wash normally

  • Air-dry first (so you don’t “set” anything with the dryer)

3️⃣ For Whites (Like Onesies, Socks, Swaddles)

Use OxiClean White ReviveIt whitens better than chlorine bleach without ruining fabrics.

  • Add 1 scoop to the drum

  • Add detergent

  • Wash on warm

Whites come out crisp, bright, and baby-safe.

🚀 Big Kids Laundry: Mud, Grass, Food & “What Even Is This?”

My big boys are full of energy, personality — and stains.

We’re talking:

  • Grass

  • Mud

  • Chocolate

  • Ketchup

  • Marker

  • Playground sweat

  • Random sticky stuff that they swear “just appeared”

What I Use:

✔️ OxiClean Colour Shield Powder (keeps colours bright)✔️ OxiClean Spray✔️ Purex 4-in-1 + Oxi detergent

My Big Kid Laundry Process

  1. Sort by lights/darks (if I have the energy… let’s be honest).

  2. Spray every stain with OxiClean.

  3. For EXTRA dirty items — sports clothes, mud days, school art disasters — I do an OxiClean soak.

  4. Wash with Purex + Oxi for the heavy-duty clean

Everything comes out fresh, bright, and totally wearable again.

👚 Our Laundry: Keeping Adult Clothes Fresh & Clean Without Extra Work

For our clothes, I like things FAST and EASY.

My go-tos:

✔️ Gain Flings (3-in-1 with Oxi + Febreze)

✔️ OxiClean Colour Shield (for brightening)

✔️ OxiClean White Revive for towels + sheets

Adult Laundry Routine

  1. Toss everything in

  2. Add a Gain Fling to the drum

  3. Add OxiClean powder if it needs extra brightening

  4. Wash on cold

That’s it. Minimal effort, maximum “mmm, smells amazing.”

🌈 Why I’m So Obsessed With OxiClean

Let me be dramatic for a second:It has saved hundreds of dollars in clothes — especially baby stuff.

It:

  • Removes formula

  • Lifts spit-up

  • Erases poop stains

  • Whitens dingy onesies

  • Revives coloured kids’ clothing

  • Brightens adult laundry

  • Works in HE and regular washers

  • Is gentle enough for babies (the Baby formula)

Once you use it correctly, you don’t go back.

🧺 Final Thoughts: My Mom Laundry Philosophy

Laundry doesn’t have to be stressful. It doesn’t have to ruin cute baby outfits. And it doesn’t have to be a weekly battle.

With the right products — especially OxiClean — the stains are manageable, clothes last longer, and the whole routine just becomes… easier.

And as a mom of three?I’ll take all the “easy” I can get.
